Texas Fish Report

Catfish have been the best this past week with the cats biting all over the lake. Some of the best spots for the cats have been the East End, South Shore, Dam and Inlet and from the shore it has been the inside of Social Security Point. Catfish are hitting mackerel, chicken liver, anchovies and even night crawlers. Other than the catfish, largemouth bass have been on fire. Bass are being caught in the East End, North Shore, and the South Shore. Plenty of 6 to 8 inches for the kids, and bigger fish out deeper. The bass are hitting dark plastics, drop shot rigged is the best set up right now, and shad colored lures. Striper are still biting, but it seems to be mostly a morning bite right now. Some boils in the morning are producing 2 pound striper off of small top water poppers. Bait fishing for the striper has slowed somewhat, but chicken liver and anchovies are still your best bet. Striper action has remained the best in the East End. Bluegill fishing has improved as several fishermen are reporting boating several bluegills weighing over one pound. Afternoon seems to be the best time for the bluegills, fishing parts of worms in the coves in the East End, South Shore and the Ramp #2 Area.
