While last week showed a 32 pound striper, this week the top was only an 8 pounder caught near the dam off of chicken liver. Striper action slowed somewhat as the weekend came. Most of those striper reported were small schoolies and most seemed to be holding in the deeper waters near the dam and the inlet. Chicken liver seems to be the top bait, but fishermen reported luck on anchovies as well. Bass action took a small step back as well. Fishermen reported seeing the fish, they just did not seem to be too interested in biting. Most of the bass coming in have been caught along the South shore and back in the East End off of dark plastics fished deep enough that the bait is no longer visible by the eye. Trout action slowed as well even with a new stock. Most of the trout action appeared to be in the East End. Worms remain the top bait for the rainbows. Some bluegill starting to show up along the South Shore and around the Ramp #2 area off of worms.
The following are the fish ratings:
Bass: Good
Bluegill: Fair
Carp: Poor
Catfish: Poor
Striper: Good
Trout: Good
