At long last the first trout have ht the water and provided many fishermen with some action this past weekend. We expect the trout bite will become even better as we are due for our second stock the week of 11-17-10. Trout were stocked at Ramp #2 so that is were most of the trout action is at this point. Trout were hitting everything from powerbait, worms and even some kastmasters and rooster tails. The best bet from what fishermen told us this past weekend is that garlic everything seems to be the hot ticket. Striper action continues to improve slowly as several fishermen reported limits of the linesides. East End seems to be the hot spot right now as the striper still boil in the morning, however with the recent trout stock striper action should be improving near Ramp #2 as well. Swimbaits were the hottest ticket for the striper, colors such as white and silver were the best bet. Bait fishing for the striper is also working, anchovies are the best but chicken liver is working still as well. Largemouth Bass have slowed a bit, but most of those being caught are in deeper water as they have begun to hold in their winter waters. The lake is fairly low right now with no words as to when the lake should be back to normal.
Rate the action based over the past week:
Bass = Fair
Catfish = Fair
Striper = Good
Trout = Good
