Even with 900 pounds of catchable sized rainbow trout, the stripers still really didn't seem that interested at all. When they were planted on Thursday, a few double digits were caught on swimbaits by the locals. Since then, it has been difficult to try to get these finicky stripers to bite the swimbaits. Very few anglers are pin pointing where the stripers are in the rest of the lake and when they do find them, cut bait and worms have been working great. The largemouth are still the hot ticket at both the upper lake and lower lagoon. The largies have been biting on the nitro nightcrawlers and normal nightcrawlers, but plastics are still working. All over the fish arm you can find the largies anywhere from the surface to about 40 feet deep. And if you're fishing in those depths, you could even snag a small mouth or two. As of Saturday Feb 26th the cove in the back of the fish arm (Dry Gulch) will be closed to fishing and boating until may 28 for the spawning season.
