Texas Fish Report

The water level has continued to go up and down, and the drastic changes in weather have paid their toll on fishing at Lake Skinner. These factors have made fishing really "unpredictable" according to several complaining fishermen this past week. While fishing may not have been "red hot", some days saw good action.

Stripers are hitting the best, the best chance to get one is by boat near the dam or the inlet when it is flowing. Ramp # 2 area has produced some fish from shore however it is the far southside of Ramp # 2 that has been reported the best shore fishing for the striper. Best baits have been anchovies followed closely by chicken liver.

Trout remain in the mix, mostly in the morning hours back in the East End. Worms and spoons seem to be the best to catch the remaining trout. Bass action was mixed, lots of small hits, lots of fish being seen, but with the water level on the move the bass are still cautious.

Good news for cat fishermen, there are signs that the cats are beginning to move shallow. Best information on the catfish right now is fish along the South Shore, we have reports that both anchovies and mackerel are working well.
