Overall fishing improved over the last week. The bass bite has picked up and several are coming in showing signs of already having spawned. South Shore and East End are the best locations for bass. Most are hitting dark plastics fished alone the reeds in the morning and dropping down deeper as the day rows later.
Bluegill have also begun to pick up as well. They are showing mostly in the coves along the South Sore, back up in the East End and near Ramp # 2. Blown-up worms are working best, but they are hitting meal worms and a few crappie jigs as well.
Catfish are showing up in more numbers as well as the cats have started to prowl the shallow water near Ramp # 2. However, the East End and the Dam/Inlet have been producing cats as well. Best bait has been mackerel followed by chicken liver.
Stripers are still hitting in the morning, but they seem to be really hit or miss right now. Anchovies is still the top bait, channels leading back in the East End and Ramp # 2 area have been the best producers. There is little info on trout as we are quickly moving out of their season for this lake.
