The cut bait for Stripers is picking up in certain spots for a day or two then the Stripers move on. Suicide Point, Sharron's Rest, Dry Gulch and Kong Island have been producing fish almost every day off sardines and anchovies.
The largies have been biting better in the morning than the afternoon but then the bite picks back up for the last couple hours of the day. Largies are still keying in on nightcrawlers and plastics on the drop shot. Top water is working more and more so shad baits are working great but still not a lot of shad showing up on the surface for netting.
Most of the trout have made it out to deeper waters but some people are lucky from the shoreline still.
Panfish are being spotted in every cove and are biting crappie jigs, meal worms and small bits of nightcrawlers. Lagoon fishing has been doing great at dawn and dusk; the largies are biting on the surface and chasing some shad around. The panfish are also doing very well around the fishing pier.
