THE 13TH ANNUAL O.P. BALL MEMORIAL "FISHIN IN THE PINES" KIDS DERBY WAS A GREAT SUCCESS. LOTS OF KIDS CAUGHT NICE TROUT, HAD LUNCH AND WON SOME GREAT PRIZES. LINDSEY LEMERT WAS THE GRAND PRIZE WINNER WITH A 3.10 POUND TROUT. OTHER WINNERS WERE ANDREW TREADWAY, PARKER WASSENAR, JEREMY SHIMAMOTO, NAGALISE PUENTZ, RON VOSBURGH, LORENO RODRIGUEZ, JACK SMITH, LOGAN HOWARTER AND ELLA MOLINA.
Fishing has been good all week. The weather has been perfect with temperatures in the 70's and only some wind a couple of afternoons.
Notables: Andrew Eccles caught a 1.51 pound Bass using a silver Kastmaster in Bass Heaven.
Ed Dielman of Menifee caught a 22.5 pound catfish using a night crawler on the West jetty.
DON"T FORGET THE FREE FISHING CLASS IS HELD EVERY SATURDAY AT 10 AM AT THE LAUNCH RAMP.
THE DECONTAMINATION WASHDOWN IS REQUIRED FOR ALL PRIVATE VESSELS, MOTORS, CANOES, WADERS, FLOAT TUBES AND KAYAKS BEFORE A LAUNCH. CHECK WITH STAFF IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
