The fishing this past week has been a little harder than usual. After the rain the bite kind of shut down but we are still seeing boils and the bite seems to be recovering day by day. The stripers are still biting on top water baits on the boils and squid is getting them around 490 to 80 feet deep. Around Kong Island and the Buoy Line is where the cut bait and the squid are working. The boils keep moving around every day, they are not sticking to one spot of cove. The large mouth are hanging out all over the lake but are pretty picky. In the government coves they are very shallow and going after the flukes. In Old SS and Elizabeth Cyn dropshot has been working to catch the largies a little deeper are better sized. The lagoon is still producing decent sized fish at dusk and throughout the night. Nightcrawlers and flukes are also great baits for the largies at the lagoon. The crappie and pan fish are still biting the wax worms.
