Capt. Ron called in to give this update from his Halibut Run today, "We went freelancing first. I fished down below yesterday, it just wasn't very good the water was cold and dirty. We fished up off the point today. We had excellent bottom fishing. I fished shallow water, we had nice browns and some big grass rockfish, cabazons, china cod, sugar bass we got a lot of fish there. Then we went down and fished some halibut this afternoon because we've been catching some in the afternoon. We got 2 nice ones that's it.

If your interested we leave at 7:00 AM and the price is $66.00. It's going to be good, there are some fish around. I've been catching them every day and in April and May when this fish spawns it is going to be game on."

Point Loma catches a 35 lb. Halibut on latest trip

Capt. Ron Baker called in with this report from the Point Loma, "We fished today, we had one nice big one. That's the best we could do but it was a 35 pounder. It was a beauty. Report on the Point Loma Halibut Run, March 8, 2012

Capt Ron called in with this update, "we had 2 legal halibut, one fish was about 25 lbs. We had 4 shorts, a few handfuls of Sculpin, Rockfish, Sand Bass a few Reds.
