Texas Fish Report

The lake temperature is between 55 & 57 degrees. The flow at the Inlet is moderate, but be aware that a full moon and any sort of cloud cover will change the action almost instantly.

The threadfin shad bit is over!!! Trout fishing at the south shore, or east of ramp 2 is good. Use PowerBait with garlic scent. The best colors are yellow or rainbow. Blood red powerworms have also been effective. Be sure to use a light line. Kastmasters always work as well as do nightcrawlers with a small split shot.

Bluegill will be found in deep water & they have been attracted to crickets or nightcrawlers. You'll find nightcrawlers cruising the banks tight to the reeds. It is best to have a slow action with the lure. Try jig heads or orange drop shot, reds or browns also work. Catfish are hittin on sardines or mackerel in deep water. Carp are off ramp 1 at Marina point with cornmeal dough balls.

The newt trout plant will be on January 18, 2013.
