The bite at Lake Skinner has been running between Fair and Good this week

The temperature is between 51 and 55 degrees with light winds. The Inlet is flowing low to zero, and the water is up to 15 feet. There is a lot of baitfish in the water so no species is setting in their regular areas.
Largemouth are cruising the banks and coves. It is too cold to get them interested in much at this time. Bluegill are located in about 70 feet of water, they will hit on nightcrawlers or live crickets. Catfish are in the deep waters and will only hit sardines or anchovies. Trout can be found slightly east or west of Ramp 2. They are hitting either red or brown Power Worms or yellow mouse tails. We are only getting light action from the Stripers. Your best bet there is to troll plastics, swimbaits or stick bait lures (clear, silver or white).
The next trout plant will be January 18, 2013.
