The water level is dropping about a foot a day and will continue to drop for the rest of the summer. It has not affected the fishing too much through, with angels reporting good numbers over the past weekend. If you were brave enough to brave the hear, or just get out here early enough to avoid it, you have a good chance to hook into a few fish.
The trout bite has slowed down with the last plants being a month ago now. Power bait and night crawlers seem to be working the best.
The largemouth and smallmouth bass bite reminds steady with a lot of reports of high numbers. Finesse plastics on the drop shot and the good old nightcrawler seems to be having the best action lately, with more and more fish being caught on reaction baits the past week.
The stripers are still bittng with good numbers, mainly off night crawlers, lug worms, and cut baits. Some angels are having luck on the troll with flies and spoons.
The catfish are continuing to end up on the end of anglers lies, mostly by fishing cut bait and night crawlers.
The bluegill and crappie are still al little tougher to target, with the lower lake being more productive for these species.
