The water level is steadily dropping and will continue to keep dropping these next months. It will get low but we plan to still be operating. The fishing has been really decent that past few weeks with a lot of high fish count days to reports on.
The largemouth and smallmouth bite has been steady. Most anglers have been having luck off night crawlers and plastic worms. Some reaction baits have been getting fish first thing and late in the afternoon, and the occasional boil pops up as well.
The striper are biting off lug worms, night crawlers, sardines and anchovies. A lot of smaller fish are being caught but if you are able to weed through them there are some decent ones being caught. Some stripers have been caught off the troll as well.
The catfish are making more of an appearance lately with cut bait and night crawlers working best.
The crappie and bluegill bite remains a little on the slow side, and the lower lake has bene a better place to target these species.
Trout have been harder to target with the last plant being more than a month ago, but some anglers have been able to sneak in a hold over with good size to it.
