Texas Fish Report

At long last the striper have returned to Lake Skinner with some force. Early morning is still best fishing time for the line sides, but reports place fish coming in during the afternoon hours as well. East End is the hot stop as many anglers are having luck with tip water baits in the morning. Swim baits and rattle traps are working as well, while the bait of choice is chicken liver. Catfish are still doing well in the East end and near the dam and Inlet, Mackerel and chicken liver working the best for them. Shore action for catfish has slowed, most of the fish being reported are coming in by boat. Largemouth Bass are become more aggressive as well along the South shore as many anglers are reporting having better numbers and size of fish being landed. Baits of choice are poppers in the morning and switching over to dark plastics and worms as the sun rises in the sky. Some bluegill still being reported, good size fish but fewer than weeks before.

Carp: Fair
Catfish: Excellent with an Average size of 3-4 lbs.
Crappie: Poor
Striper: Excellent with an Average size of 3-4 lbs.
Trout: Poor
