Trout fishing has been slow these past few months without having any recent trout plants. Our next one should be around Halloween. With that being said, there are always anglers accidentally catching a trout every now and then. Usually using power-baits or nightcrawlers.
Striped bass have been on the chew lately, mainly off cut bait and nightcrawlers. Some anglers are having luck on the boils, but the fish are of smaller size and finicky. They are mainly biting on smaller sized lures and baits. Trolling a fly or umbrella rig has also been seeing some action
The Largemouth and smallmouth bite has been decent, and a lot of fish have been caught off a finesse plastics or worms. Nightcrawlers have also been doing well. You may be able to throw a reaction bait; a topwater, fluke, or jerk bait and catch some of the bass feeding on
bait fish.
The catfish have also been making more appearances lately, mainly while anglers are fishing the bottom for striper.
Bluegill are starting to be caught in better numbers, but the crappie bite remains elusive, and the lower lagoon is a better place to target.
