Wohlford Lake Fishing Report
Jeff and Ron had fun competing for the largest rainbow trout at Lake Wohlford. Their bite consisted of only 8 lbs rainbow trout. All of these were caught with nightcrawlers on either end of the lake.

The trout plant we were waiting on finally arrived and they are biting well on Senior Shore and in Willow Cove. Winter seems reluctant to depart, as do the rains, adding another wrinkle to the quest for fish. Big fish of the week belonged to James Bogin, who while fishing for bass, caught an 8.90# trout on a chatter bait in Oakvale Cove. Other notable catches included Jeff Noll’s 8.30# Ron Peat’s 7.90# and Ben Chastain’s 7.20# trout. The water is still murky, with all the rain we are having, so baits that are scented flashy enough to penetrate through the cloudy water are working best.
Catfish can be found throughout the lake and prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver.

It has been a week of wild weather with wind, rain, and plenty of cold. Those few intrepid anglers who chose to brave the elements were rewarded with an unflagging trout bite that resulted in some big trout being caught, in addition to any possible pneumonias.
