GREETINGS FROM LAKE CUYAMACA
STARTING DECEMBER 1, 2009 THE TACKLE SHOP HOURS WILL CHANGE TO THE FOLLOWING:
-
- MON, TUES, THURS AND FRIDAY 8:00AM TO 4:00PM
- SATURDAY THE TACKLE SHOP IS OPEN 6:00AM TO 4:30 PM
- SUNDAY THE TACKLE SHOP IS OPEN 10:00AM TO 4:30 PM
- WEDNESDAYS AND SUNDAY UNTIL 10:00AM, THE LAKE IS CLOSED FOR DUCK HUNTING IN DECEMBER AND JANUARY
JESS RANCH HATCHERY delivered 2000 pounds of trout this past week, while Mt. Lasson and DFG delivered fish last week.
Trout fishing was very good, with many limits being caught in a couple of hours. Crappie were biting well earlier this week.
Best Trout Lure: Kastmaster gold
Best Trout Bait: Night crawlers, power bait, power worms
Best Spots: All over the lake
Notables:
- - Don Deatt of Alpine caught 2 trout, the largest at 4 pounds trolling between Lone Pine and the jetty.
- Bill Mace of Spring Valley caught his limit of 5 trout with a total weight of 8 1/2 pounds, the largest at 2 1/2 pounds on orange twist power bait at the Dike and Pumphouse cove.
- Kendall Lack, age 9 of La Mesa caught 3 trout, with the largest 1 1/4 pounds on worms at Fletcher Island.
- Haley Kosman, age 9 of La Mesa caught 2 trout with the largest at 1 1/2 pounds on worms at Fletcher Island.
- Jack Lack of La Mesa caught 5 trout, weighing 7 pounds, with the largest 2 pounds on nightcrawlers at Pumphouse Cove.
- Jay Kister, Buddy age 9 and Kitty Lou age 5 of El Cajon caught 6 fish. The largest was a 6 1/2 pound Bass, 20 inches long.
THE DECONTAMINATION WASH DOWN IS REQUIRED FOR ALL PRIVATE VESSELS BEFORE A LAUNCH.
