GREETINGS FROM LAKE CUYAMACA
OUR HOURS HAVE CHANGED. DECEMBER AND JANUARY, THE LAKE HAS WATERFOWL HUNTING EVERY WEDNESDAY ANDSUNDAY MORNING. THAT MEANS THAT WE ARE CLOSED ALL DAY ON WEDNESDAYS AND DO NOT OPEN FOR FISHING ON SUNDAY UNTIL 10 AM. THE TACKLE SHOP OPENS AT 8 AM ON THE OTHER WEEK DAYS AND AT 6 AM ON SATURDAY.
The weather has been cold and rainy with a few snow showers in the mix. The Trout don\'t seem to care. They are biting on pretty much everything.
On Sunday, eleven ducks were taken. 6 Bufflehead, 3 Shovelers, and 2 Pintails. Wednesday, only 2 ducks were taken. One Mallard, one Shoveler. There are still a couple of blinds that are available. The price is $75 for a one day hunt. If you are interested, please call the District office at 619-447-8123. Ask for Georgia.
Andy Woener of Santee was back this week, a couple of times, and scored two limits of Rainbows. Largest was 2 1/2 pounds. At the N. Finger Jetty.
Justin Streud caught 3 Trout , the largest at 2 pounds. He was fishing with Guy Graham and Dale Zorczynski. All together they took 9 pounds of fish from Lone Pine Area.
The free fishing class is held every Saturday at the Launch Ramp. Meet Ranger Charlie at 10 AM.
The decontamination wash down is required for all private vessels before launch. Float tubes and waders must also be washed down before using the Lake. There is a fee for the washdown.
