Texas Fish Report

While bass fishing remains your best bet here at Lake Skinner, it took a step back from the action that we saw with the bass last week. Shortly after last weekend the water level dropped once again. The level seems to be steady at the moment and reports are that the inlet is raging with water. Bass fishing remained the best in the East End and along the South shore as plastics remained the top bait. Dark colors are still working best for the larger bass who have been hanging down a little deeper than last week, and brighter colors have been working well for the smaller bass who are still shallow. Striper showed up in a few better numbers last week, especially during the cool overcast mornings. The striper remain on the small side, and chicken liver still remains the king of baits. Some bluegills and cats and even a few trout are reported, but nothing really to make note about. For those of you who enjoy hooking into big carp, anglers are reporting not only seeing several huge carp cruising the shallows, but several have been coming in over 10 pounds.
