SHORE FISHING GOES UNTIL 7:30 PM
Fishing has been good all over the Lake, but especially productive at pumphouse cove. We had rain this week and about 6 inches of snow yesterday.
Best Trout Bait: Night crawlers and power bait
Best Spots: Pumphouse Cove and Lone Pine
Notables
(1) Nick, 8 years old and Grandpa Dennis of Casa de Oro and Julian caught 8 trout weighing 11.2 pounds, with the largest at 2 pounds on a night crawler and power bait at Pumphouse Cove.
(2) Brad Hanson of el Cajon caught his limit of 5 trout weighing a total of 11 pounds, the largest 5 pounds on green power bait at the North Bouy line.
(3) Tom Gill of vista caught 5 trout, the largest at 2.2 pounds and 3 catfish on inflated night crawlers from a boat in the center of the Lake.
(4) Katie Elliott and Mike Plangren of Carlsbad caught 9 trout weighing 10 pounds, the largest trout was 4.5 pounds. They were using night crawlers at Lone Pine.
(5) Dom Reglandis caught his limit of 5 trout using a power worm and power bait at Pumphouse Cove.
(6) Vince Dangler of Ocean Beach caught 5 trout weighing a total of 8 pounds on worms at Pumphouse Cove.
The Free Fishing Class is held every Saturday at 10:00 am. Meet Ranger Charlie at the launch ramp.
THE DECONTAMINATION WASH DOWN IS REQUIRED FOR ALL PRIVATE VESSELS AND MOTORS BEFORE A LAUNCH. ALSO, FLOAT TUBES AND WADERS MUST BE WASHED DOWN BEFORE USING THE LAKE. THERE IS A FEE FOR THE WASH DOWN.
