With the full moon and the cold blustery weather fishing has been a challange. Those hardy souls that have been here have not checked into the Tackle Shop to report catches. With the promised good weather and the trout scheduled for next week things should improve.

Best Trout Bait: Nightcrawlers and Power Bait
Best Trout Lure: Rapala Fire Tiger
Best Spots: Pumphouse Cove and Lone Pine

The Neo Caparas Memorial Fishing Derby has been in full swing for two days. Many firefighters from the Heartland Fire and Rescue have been braving the cold to see who can get his name on the trophy this year. Lots of stories and few fish. All in all a great time was had by all. Hugo, the huge trout, 4.8 pounds was caught at Labarynth Cove on combination of crawlers and power bait.

The free fishing class is held every Saturday at 10AM. Meet Ranger Charlie at the launch ramp.

THE DECONTAMINATION WASH DOWN IS REQUIRED FOR ALL PRIVATE VESSELS AND MOTORS BEFORE LAUNCH. ALSO FLOAT TUVES AND WADERS MUST BE WASHED DOWN BEFORE USING THE LAKE. THERE IS A FEE FOR THE WASH DOSN.
