Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca. Our tackle shop hours are 8am to 4pm. Weekend hours are 6am to 4:30pm. February special is a motor boat rental all day $25.00. Trouts have been biting the last few days. the regular night crawlers and power bait seems to work well.
Notables:
Jeremy Powell of Escondido caught a 5.7 pound trout using a night crawler off shore near Lone Pine. Julie Johnson of Spring Valley caught 5 trout weighing a total of 9 pounds. The largest was 2.4 pounds. She was using night crawlers at the south end. Flea of Descanso caught 3 trout on Tuesday for a total of 4.3 pounds. His largest was 2.3 pounds at the T-Dock. Lots of deer in the meadows and along side the highway. The grass is very plentiful in those areas.
Don't forget the free fishing class every Saturday at 10:00 am at the Launch Ramp. Decontamination washdown is required for all private vessels and motors before launch. Check with staff if you have questions For reservations for camping, condos or cabins or rv camping, call 877-581-9904.
