Striper continue to boil int he East End and reports have some in with spotted boils near Ramp #2 as well. While there are a lot of fish being seen, the striper appear to be harder to catch. People are getting fish, but few seem to be getting their 10 fish limit of striper. Top water poppers near the boils seems to be a popular lure, while those trolling swim baits and rattle traps have reported some bigger fish than the average 2 pounder coming from the boils. Bait wise the striper seems to be hitting chicken liver the best, but cut anchovies are working as well. Catfish were stocked this past Thursday at Ramp #1 and the East End seems to be the spot for the catfish, however reports also show that they are being caught near the Dam and Inlet as well. From shore the Catfish are still biting best from Social Security Point towards Ramp #2. Best bait are mackerel, shrimp and chicken liver. Bass and bluegill still being reported, but they are few in numbers. Best area for them would be the South shore in the afternoon hours.
These are the following fish ratings:
Bass: Fair
Bluegill: Fair
Carp: Fair
Catfish: Good with an Average size of 3 lbs.
Crappie: Poor
Striper: Good with an Average size of 2 lbs.
Trout: Poor
