Texas Fish Report

The water level is up at Lake Skinner which means a low flow at the Inlet. The fall lake turnover is just about complete. The water temperatures are running between 60 & 64 degrees. The trout bite at ramp 2 has been slow. More trout can be found at the East End being chased by Stripers. The trout are a good size ranging from 2 to 3 lbs.

Some big Catfish are still being caught on mackerel, chicken liver and even some shad. The Striper bite is on, with the best time being at day break with swimbait. That bite shuts off fast. The remaining Stripers are being caught using shad oe legal bait rigs like Sibiki rigs or shad net. Remeber only use Lake Skinner shad.

Largemouth are all in the coves, slowly moving around with the cold water temps. The vast majority of bass being caught and released are 2 to 3 lbs. Fior the bass it is best to use drop-shot robo worms and white lures. Some of the other good colors for the bass are pumpkin, purples and dark greens.
